2008 Rides
May 10th 2008 : Gymkhana Cancelled/ will ride somewhere: Call Terry 775-753-7513 or Tom 775-7442592 May 24th: Western Hills, Compass Ride Tom and Diana Norris are our host for this ride. Directions will be posted later. We will divide into several teams and enjoy a ride in the western hills area by compass. You will have to follow the directions to reach the next set of directions. The team that brings back all their flags WIN! Ready to ride by 10:00 am four to six hours 775-744-2592 Rated as a one June 8th 2008: Taylor Canyon We will meet at Taylor Canyon Bar at 8:30 am. Than will we drive to the riding spot,about 20 minutes. Then after the ride we will go back to Taylor Canyon Bar and have dinner. Last year we saw Elk,Deer, and Antelope. Contact Person is Terry 775-753-7513 I will need a head count for this ride (for dinner) Rated as a three June 21st and 22 2008: Secret Starr BBQ The BBQ will be on Sunday, Contact person on Sunday will be Dennis Smith 775-753-7601. Ready to Ride 9:00 am at Trail Head. A few of us will be packing in over night. If you would like to come on Saturday you are welcome to come. However you must have your own Equipment and food. Terry will supply Hamburgers for the BBQ on Sunday. If you would like to come on Saturday Contact Terry 775-753-7513 Rated as a three July 19th and 20th 2008: Harrison Pass South This ride is new this year. Last fall a group of us decided to ride on the other side of Harrison pass. Some will be two track roads. A few of us will be packing in for the night on Saturday. If you would like to come in on Saturday please contact Terry 775-753-7513 We will meet at the trail head at 8:00 and ready to ride by 9:00 am. I will later post a name that will come in only on Sunday for those that don't want to spend the night. Rated as a three July 27th 2008: Lamoille Canyon We will meet at the Trail head at 8:00 am ready to ride by 8:30 am. This is a all day ride, we will be riding to North Furlong. Tom and Diana Norris 775-744-2592 Rated as a 5 August 2nd 2008: Ackler Creek Darlene Mc Garr will be in the contact person for this ride 775-753-7663 Exit 333 (Starr Valley) we will meet at the exit. Then we will drive to the parking area. We will meet at 8:00 am Rated as five. Horses should be in very god shape for this ride, it's all up hill. August 16th and 17th 2008: Smith Creek/Harrison Pass This will be another over niter for those that want it to be or just a day ride. The ride will be 30 miles round trip. If you want to come in just part way with us you are welcome to do so. We will meet at 8:00 am at trail head and ready to ride by 9:00 am. Contact person will be Terry St.Louis 775-753-7513 Rated as a three September 6th Overland Lake We will be meet at the trail head at 9:00 am, 16 miles round trip. This trail head can be hard to find so please call one of our other members that has been there and follow them out. There is no water until you get to the trail head. Terry 775-753-7513 Rated as a three, six hour ride Sept 20 Soldier Canyon /Hidden Lake We will meet at the trail head at 9:00 am, Ready to ride by 9:30 am Rated as a four/ Contact person is Sue Kovall 775-738-1381 October 4th: Osino We will meet at the cattle guard in Osino.9:00 am. We will then drive to the parking area. Darlene Mc Garr will be the contact person for this ride. 775-753-7663 Rated as a two, five hour ride October 19th Open We are going to leave this ride open. For exploration. Like last year finding new places to ride!
I can not stress enough how important it is to bring proper gear. Make sure you are prepare for changing WEATHER!! Our area here changes very quickly in the summer.

1. Must provide own Horse and transportation.
2. Dogs are Welcome, but must be able to get along with other dogs and horses. Must NOT chase cattle. If there is a problem with your dog, you will be asked to leave your dog at home.
3. We work with a buddy system, if you have to stop for any reason, YOU must tell a person in the group your stopping and must take a buddy with you.
4.Must provide own lunch,drink and etc. Unless otherwise stated.
5. You can bring alcohol beverages, however if the group thinks you are out of line, you will be ask not to bring alcohol again.
6. No Bad Language and Abusive behavior will be tolerated.
7. Parents must stay with their children at ALL times
8. Be prepare for all types of weather, (clothing)
9. A Red Ribbon should be place in a horse's tail if the horse kicks and a red ribbon in the mane if the horse bites.
10. No running up on a rider and horse without letting that rider you are coming.
11. No Stallions
Your horse should be in good mountain shape and be able to cross ravines and creeks.
We rated our rides from one to five. One be the easiest and five is the hardest.
The Early Rides will depend on weather condition/road condition... Please call the person listed on that ride to see if the ride has been cancelled.
On the rides were we will be meeting and than driving to the parking area, we will wait 10 minutes after the meeting time.
If you know you are going to be late let someone know and we will wait for you.
