About Us:   We are a group of families
And individuals that enjoy horseback
riding, (trail riding).  No membership
fees, we work on the donations that the members donate. This
site is provided by the donations from our group.

History:
In 1998, Terry St.Louis and Butch Henningsen started the group.
The St.Louis family and the Henningsen's moved to Elko
for work.  Butch and Terry's husband worked together at a mine in
Utah before moving to Elko.  Working Different shift,
Terry and Butch didn't have anyone to ride with. We took a ad out
in our local paper.  Hence here we Are!

Motto:   "Good Friends, A Good Horse, and Great Food what more
could a person ask for!"

Gold Creek July 2009

God blessed us with beautiful weather.
The trip started out with Two flat tires,
one on my travel trailer and one on Shirley's travel trailer.
Shirley was lucky, the others notice her flat tire right
away.  Unfortunately
my tire was in ruins because I didn't feel the blow out.
Layne had to go back into town on Tuesday, so she
volunteer to get the tires fixed and get more supplies.
Katie step on my big toe on the first day, We all think its
because I took her on our trip.  We have been during this
trip now for four years and every time I have gone she
has been injury so i would have to take my husbands
horse.
My toe was pretty darn sore for two days!!!
Layne ,however had to out do me!  Nell step on her toe
and broke it and also broke her thumb.
Layne had to go home a day early because of the injury.
I went by her office to pay her for my tire and I must say
the thumb was a very pretty yellow/blue color.
The last day of riding, was very hot so we decided to
ride in the late afternoon
.
We came upon a beaver pond right next to the two
track road we were riding on.
The beaver was just as curious about us as we were
of him.   He would swim around and then flap his tail
and dive under water and than come back up. This
went on for about 5 minutes.
Friday, we pack up and headed home.
Terry had to clean up the travel trailer
and head back out on Saturday morning
for Tooele Utah for Barrick reunion.
Where do we go next year?
The Sierra's?
Great Basin National Park?
Or Jarbidge Wilderness area?

Layne and Shirley were the newbie's
this year on our girl trip.  They said they
are hooked  I hope so because the rest
us had a wonderful time.
Happy trails to all until next time!!!

T
his trip started out with Terry's long awaited new horse trailer. The day didn't start all
that well when Katie decide she didn't like the new horse trailer. She ran out like a freight
train (trying to load her to go) and fell backwards and scrape her head as you can see in the
picture. We got to the trail head and there was the ATV club unloading so it was crowded.
It was a beautiful day.  Melanie, my granddaughter who is 6 came with us, got tried after
two hours so instead of hearing her complain the rest of the trip, Sue and I turn back.
Layne,Joyce and Darlene went on to the lunch stop. Which wasn't much further but you
can't tell a tired 6 year old that and have her listen.  We got back to the trailers got the
horses unsaddle and just crack open a very cold pop and the others were coming down the
road.  Joyce was walking which wasn't unusually, Most of us walk a little from time to
time to stretch our legs.  Joyce was soaked from head to toe, Cowboy decided to drop down
into the creek like a rock, not getting Joyce any signs of doing that. Joyce gave us one
exciting moment on the trip and Sue and I had to miss it. Of course the other two didn't see
it either because they where a head of Joyce.
Happy Trails to all, and hope to see you on the trail soon!!!!
